Yields of Cereals

Introducing a new feature from 2008. With the expansion of papers displayed on our website, there is a considerable range of background material, not encompassed in the original Website "logic". This includes both background to this topic and actual data on yields. The reader is left to choose whether to read before or after exploring the concepts of experiment. The links are below the original scheme intended for understanding the research approach.

It is easy to recognise, from the preceding introduction to cereals, that this heading could encompass most of the research on cereals! However, in the interests of clarity, those matters already singled out as topics in their own right are excluded from this area and those relate either to secondary processing, e.g. storage and drying of grain, or to secondary factors such as the origins of indicators of agricultural activity.. The other division is the one uncontrolled variable subject to management control, namely the Arable Weed Community, mainly because it is inherently an independent topic for record. The impact of the Management of weeds, remains relevant however to yields and is encompassed then under the page Uncontrolled Factors.

Papers of interest on this website. Due to the number of internal links already existing on this website [over 500 at this date] and the load on our checking programme, we ask you to store this page address, if you do not have BACK button facility, so you can return from these addresses, all of which are accessible from Historic Publications Archive , as an alternative to going to each paper in turn.
