This artice is typical of the many early items that were written by Peter Reynolds to gain wider publicity for the Project. Some points of interest exist in it. The first illustration shows one of the early attempts to devise an oven that really cooked! On a personal level, Peter Reynolds kept dogs for all but the last year or so of his life. Two other illustrations show the landscape setting for BAFDA with two stages in the life of the Pimperne House. The view of the first research site on Little Butser is a familiar one.

The article comes from Popular Archaeology August 1979 Vol.1 No2 edited by Magnus Magnusson.
