The following document is representative of the way in which background for various bits of work was evolved, along with illustrating the sort of sources from which help was obtained. It represents "outreach" work with schools, as we would now call it. From the initials on the last script page, namely, MJC, it would appear that it was prepared by [or for] M J Cash, then General County Inspector for Rural and Environmental Science, for Hereford and Worcester. It also shows that he [assumed, for it was 1986 in the UK !] provided seeds for a wide and intriguing variety of different wheats.
The reference to History relates to the UK School Curriculum of the day [Group 4] rather than being a unique history of wheat, as such. The document should however provide material of interest in several contexts, including that of experiment.
