Project Consultant : Christine Shaw
Over the last months, there has been a growing demand for background as to how the Ancient Farm Project was initiated and how it evolved from there. Over the last year or so, we have been collecting as many records as exist covering the Farm's progress and its relocations and the contacts that have built up, throughout its life. The archive is intended to be lodged with Hampshire County Record Office at some future time, as the Farm is one of the few such internationally recognised endeavours to have been set up and thrived within the County.
This short series of presentations is intended to outline the key stages in its history and to illustrate the types of material that exist. Reproduction on a web page is sometimes less than satisfactory, not least because of the age and condition of some of the documents. Sheer physical size can also be a limitation. Where a serious student or researcher would like access to the original material, they should contact the Trust Archivist. Alternatively, there is now an archive of all the material on this part of the Website, and much more besides, at the Hampshire Record Office with the accession number 63A05. That archive contains, amongst many other things, a complete run of all the newsletters produced during Peter's lifetime. A link to the Record Office is given at the foot of the Historic Publications Archive index page, which is the first item below.
These pages are being extended by the inclusion of slides from the archive collection. All copyright enquiries should be addressed through the Trust Archivist, above.
