Peter Reynolds founder of the Butser Ancient Farm died on the 24th September 2001.
We would like to draw attention to the memorial stone that has been put in place at the Farm.
This stone was carved and donated by Tim Concannon, a great supporter of the Farm and close friend of Peter and his family. It is made of local malmstone.
The idea was conceived by the family and the stone was installed in the centre of the crop fields, scene of so much of Peter's early work, following a private ceremony in the summer of 2002.
For those without the Latin, no longer a general requirement for UK university entry [!], the inscription says:
"Peter John Reynolds : Director of Butser Ancient Farm : Our best fount and inspiration : Dearly beloved friend"
