OPEN WEEKEND 28th/29th AUGUST 2004
TEXTILES AND CLOTHING
In spite of the rather miserable weather, visitors to Butser Ancient Farm enjoyed trying their hand at making the various kinds of fabric used to make clothing 2000 years ago, going home with samples of handspun wool, felt, dyed cloth and their own penannular brooches. During the afternoons, David Freeman and Anne Phipps gave a fashion parade of the different styles of clothing that people living in Iron Age and Roman Britain would have worn.
